After Alfred Kinsey’s time, William Masters, Virginia Johnson, and Vern Bullough all worked in the area of sex research. These researchers worked to bring more attention and acknowledgement to the area of women’s sexuality. Several specific areas that these researchers focused on were sexual difficulties, sexual enjoyment, and challenges against societal roles and gender roles. All of these areas were examined in terms of how they were affecting women. These researchers differed from Kinsey in the ways in which they conducted their research as well as which areas of sexuality they focused on. In this section, the work of each of these researchers will be discussed in terms of how they viewed and studied women and women’s sexuality.
